Jonah - I did the same journey at Christmas with my six-year-old. Thought they were well above average but the food wasn't all that.

One leg of the four there and back was with Air NZ and I was reminded how good they are at long haul.

On the way home I was chatting to another English family on the WLG - AKL flight who had flown China Southern to NZ and were full of praise. Cheap fares but decent service and brand-spanking new planes.

Re: British airways.
Bit of a difference between a fucking plane i.e. a boring cunt journey through the skies from A to B than West Ham United moving home, Penners son!

Fucking hell!

I'm only pro the move as it should make my club more competitive... Simple as that...

Cheers Sydney, we're going Auckland - Hong Kong - London and return with them, with a night stopover in HKG both directions, and a 2 year old kid, so putting a fair amount of hope and faith in them!

And the kid.

Cathay are good Jonah, did them a few months ago to Hong Kong, on par with Emirates and Singapore, would have no problems using them again.

BA stewardesses are on very good wedge. I knew one 15 years ago who worked long haul. She was on over 50k then and worked a few days a week. As has been said, that included 2-3 day layovers in fantastic hotels in the best destinations.

Re: British airways.
Why? They probably enjoy there jobs so why do something else?

Re: British airways.
Long haul they get put up in decent hotels for 3-4 nights before the return flight, also get a daily allowance and into bars/clubs if they wish.

Emirates - will always fly them wherever possible. Great (as airlines go) food and drink, decent entertainment system, friendly cabin crew and pretty comfortable seats.

Anyone had experience long-haul with Cathay Pacifc?

'Trolly dollys always work their arse off with a passenger ratio of about 50 to 1'

Yeah, and they get to travel the world and get vastly discounted flights. Bless 'em.

Who said they expected to be treated like royalty?

Yes lab but how was the flight ?

Best pilots are British Airways for me.

Re: British airways.
Why do some people expect to be treated like royalty the minute they step onto a plane?

Trolly dollys always work their arse off with a passenger ratio of about 50 to 1, yet some people expect a personal skivvy.

Emirates and Singapore are both pretty decent from my experience

whufcroe 11:19 Sun Mar 29
Re: British airways.

Re: British airways.
I can only base my opinion on quality of airlines by the air hostesses who work for them and their making out abilities so in order of preference-

Thomas Cook
Easy Jet
British Airways
Virgin
